Once again we enjoyed the fantastic atmosphere and dishes at Hete Kolen for the third time! The service was excellent again, we were helped very well and the restaurant had a very cozy atmosphere! This restaurant is an absolute must! Everything homemade, (almost) everything from the BBQ. Delicious starter boards with different, tasty small dishes. Main courses: fortunately not another tough hamburger , but really tasty pieces of meat and fish on the menu. The spare ribs were also delicious. And the slow-cooked veal sukkade is in itself a reason to come back! The desserts were also tasty and original! The friendly staff and cozy atmosphere made it a fantastic dinner! What a winner this restaurant is and remains in one of the nicest streets in Amersfoort. We come there at least three times a year and in addition to the food, the wines are always surprising. Keep it up Hot Coal and see you again soon. Food: 5 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 5

Ate at Hete Kolen as a celiac twice so far. They are very willing to adapt the menu for celiacs and have very few dishes that cannot be made gluten-free with little adjustments. This because they make almost everything themselves. They do not guarantee no cross contamination but I have eaten there twice and not yet had any problems.
