Bidra med feedbackReally want to give them a higher rating. Staff is friendly, prompt and helpful. The concept is fried chicken and then put with some sticky sweet highly seasoned sauce. Three sauces, house, house spicy, and sweet garlic. They have sides of butter rice, fries and Asian slaw. The fries are dellcious and very crisp. They could give some burger places tips. The Asian slaw is very good. Vinegar and sesame oil help the slaw cut down on the sticky sweet chicken sauce. Which brings us to the real problem The sauces are just too darn sweet. All of them are highly garlicky which is fine, but the goopy too sweet nature of the sauce makes for a sick diabetic feeling when you are done. If the sauce wasn't garlic log cabin I would think they would have a winner here. The dragon balls appetizer, kimchi rice balls breaded and deep fried were delicious. And I skipped the dipping sauce on purpose. Come up with a sauce that has all of the flavor and a 1/3 of the sugar and then we can talk.
My friends and I decided to come to Bok Bok during our lunch break because we saw such great reviews on here! Let me just start by saying, they were not wrong! I decided to try the chicken sandwich, because I'm a sucker for a good chicken sando! The sandwich comes with the house sauce and a big ol' piece of chicken! The spicy level of the house sauce was just right for me, and usually I can't handle too much spice. The chicken was crispy and I never wanted that chicken to be gone. One downside was the bread. Half of a chicken sandwich is the bread, so you gotta make sure the bread is up to par--which I feel it wasn't. It was very dry and crumbly, yet got SUPER soggy with all the sauce and coleslaw. Maybe next time I'd get just the chicken? I ended up getting the fries as well. They were just regular old fries, nothing special. Probably would t get them again either. Like has been said before, this place doesn't have any place to dine in. To me, it kinda felt like a Little Caesar's-type feel. Order at the counter, chairs lining the window to wait for your food.
Love the simplicity of this place! If you come here, you know you are ordering Korean chicken wings and you know they will be done well. I love the flavor! Super yummy! Did have a little bit of a kick to it, but not too much. When I first opened up my box, I was disappointed with the amount of food I got for the price. However, I found out very quickly that it was plenty to fill me up. This place isn't dine in. You can just stop by, grab your food, and go. I really liked Bok Bok! I would definitely have to be in the mood for it in order to come back. But I'm sure I'll be back sometime!
Went here for two reasons: 1 I've heard good things about it. 2 it's 30 seconds from my house. It didn't disappoint! Now, these weren't your traditional American style wings. They are Korean wings. If you've been to Wingers in Orem, I'd compare them to wingers sticky fingers except now as sweet and with a better crunch. Seriously had a unique crunch to the wings that I really really liked. Fries were excellent. Asian slaw was good. Note it was pretty greasy and not healthy tasting. But it was great! : Just felt kinda sick after. Would I go again? Absolutely!
I really wanted to like this place! We had the boneless with candy garlic sauce and boneless house spicy both with fries and Asian slaw. The chicken was good, the fries were great, and the slaw was okay. That said, the massive amount of garlic sauce on the candy garlic chicken was way too much, and I LOVE garlic (wish I would have taken a picture) Here is the problem- there was only one employee working at 6pm on a Wednesday night. There were only 4 people waiting on food in front of us, but it took upwards of 20 minutes to get our food. I understand the employee was probably flustered having to take orders and cook, but he was also pretty rude. When I tried to order the sandwich he told me that menu was turned off with no explanation (The whole reason I chose this place was for the chicken sandwich), and was weirdly over-protective and stingy when we finally got the food and asked for more ketchup... I wasn 't planning on touching your ketchup buddy, I am very aware of the pandemic, but it would be nice to have more than two packets of ketchup for two orders of fries.
