Hubmann - Amberg

Has heard that it is one of the two best Amberg restaurants for steak, so we were curious to compare. the service was excellent (including English speaking waiting staff), nice atmosphere, full bar (not only wein and beer and eating was very good. my only recommendation...in this community where many expats live would be to offer a menu in English (I have the only thing I could easily identify without German) but the steak that my man ordered will be my choice next time. I ordered a scampi court that came with salat. the good news is that it was a traditional salat (not the typical German salat of shredded carrots and herbs;) I can't say I was so crazy about my choice, but we both loved my man steak! perfected and no extended waiting time for the delivery of the food. we also tried the creamy tomato soup that might have been the thing that I really go back! not their daily tomato soup.....we will probably go back to lunch only for the suppe! and their desserts are prepared when they order them so that they could take a little longer than they would expect, but so worth it waiting! omg! we will be back on every fall! as with most restaurants in this region. reservations are definitely recommended!

The steaks and sides were absolutely delicious and so worth the money! the staff was very friendly and the style of the next room was quite cool, we really liked it!

They need to find hubmann, but when they do, they will notice that they are not the first. Typically packed and requires reservations, hubmann's warm and welcoming atmosphere makes the feeling that they can stay all night. they have a small but plentiful bar, and their selection of food is great. combine their typical German menu with a great steakhouse offer and they will definitely come back.

Very nice place. good steaks and beautiful ambiente. I would highly recommend that they make reservations, as most nights it is quite full.

I really enjoy this restaurant. They have a variety of things for a variety of people. I especially love their daily menu. Always a few creative dishes and very well prepared. Steaks are outstanding and so are their fish/shellfish dishes. Definitely not your typical German...restaurant. Another massive plus is the service is very attentive which is not always typical of Germany. This would be for sure one of the restaurants I would choose to eat at if visiting Amberg for a weekend.
