Lusitana - Amarante

The location is beautiful, with a lovely terrace overlooking the river. The food is pretty good too. We had the roast veal which was absolutely delicious and, bearing in mind a full portion was enough for two people, very good value as well. Followed by a lovely dessert and washed down with an excellent bottle of red vinho verde and coffee, this was a great experience. Service in this family run place was friendly and helpful. Highly recommended.

We just stumbled on this restaurant, and totally enjoyed our lunch, the view, and the father and son who hosted us in this family business. Service was personal, we enjoyed a vino verde wine made by the father, and our cod dish and veal dish were prepared perfectly. Both were light but filling and enough for us to make it the main meal for the day The casual setting on the balcony was the perfect touch for our visit. Nothing beats an authentic local meal at reasonable prices.

The resturante verana is facing the lake. A great place to sit and have dinner. The food was excellent. We orded mix salad, and three Robalio fish and green wine. We received big portions that could serve two people. The service was good and efficent. Try it. Will sure return.

We had an excellent meal in this restaurant last night. It was delicious Portuguese home cooking. The staff were engaged and anxious to please. They were very proud of their food and rightly so. We had olives bread followed by vegetable soup followed by mixed tuna salad. For the main course we had sea bass goat with roast potatoes they were delicious For dessert we had fresh fruit salad drinks. We certainly recommend it real find!

Somewhat brusque service, high turnover restaurant, but on the day we visited we had a nice meal of Bacalao and a tuna salad.
