Restaurant Algharb - Alvor

We have visited a few times as this is close to the apartment we are staying in. The menu is fairly limited, and is just basic dishes, but it’s ok. Nothing fancy, nothing to get excited about but no problems either.

We went here on the Wednesday we were there when the reception side of the hotel was doing a BBQ. We both had prawn cocktail starters, I have chicken piri piri main and my wife a fish dish. Portions were generous, but we waited over 40 minutes for our starters there was a staffing problem apparently. Prices were just slightly over what they are in Town, but very reasonable considering we did not have to make the 15 minute hike to the main restaurant area,

Great food and very attentive staff. Seven of us ate, including five puddings and drinks, came to just under a hundred pounds.

We stayed in these apartments and the restaurant is new and clean with raised decking overlooking the pool and sunsets. While the menu is standard it is presented and served well. It has a full bar attached where ice creams can also be purchased. We ate here several times and cannot fault it and neither could my wife, 2 teenagers and a 11 year old, surely that is a very high complement. If you are staying in Clube Alvorferias or nearby it is worth a visit. We mainly used it for snacks and lunch and its quick, efficient and reasonable pricing make it a pleasant experience
