Bidra med feedbackAbsolutely delicious. I have been in Mexico City for three weeks, and have been trying tacos at lots of different places. This place was my favorite so far. Wide selection of meat. Onions, cilantro, and salsa served on the side for you to add yourself. Delicious refried beans. Everything about this place was great.
This place is located on one of the most popular (and populous squares in Mexico City on weekends ... Plaza San Jacinto, in San Angel, one block away from the famous Bazar del Sabado. Indeed, we ended up here (had been here before! because the quesadillas in the Bazar are closed for kitchen renovation. This place does a great job with the full array of antojitos ... small-to-medium-sized dishes that range from snacks to lunches to full meals. The tacos de pancita were excellent, as were the tacos de carnitas. The flautas de barbacoa were very good, if not the best that I have had. We had a vegetarian in our party, and he also managed to eat well. The service is kind and attentive. So overall this place is GREAT ... particularly for foreigners looking to try very original Mexican dishes, but in a clean and easy setting. Highly recommended!
Great joint to eat local food near de dan angel plaza. Aside from being cheap for a new yorker, the barbacoa is really excellent. Queso fundido w chorizo was also very good. The huarache of cochinita pibil was less impressive. Go for the borrego!
If you want to eat like locals do, this is a very good option. The specialty is barbacoa, made of lamb (nothing to do with american barbecue), but there is a lot of other options. A breakfast with cafe de olla (traditional Mexican receipt), fruit, orange juice and Santiago eggs (barbacoa and eggs in pasilla sauce, not spicy at all) for less than 6 USD per person. You won't complain.
Stopped here for a quick lunch with friends while shopping at the San Angel Market. Great, fast and friendly service. Food was very good. Definitely recommend this restaurant if you are in San Angel.
