Burgies - Alpena

The food was tasty, but when asked if something could be placed on the side instead of directly on the burger, apparently that was too hard for the kitchen to do. The waitress literally came out and said "the kitchen drew the line at placing the avocado on the side. Seriously. Instead of putting it on my burger I wanted it beside the burger, but they wouldn 't do it. Also to put chipotle sauce on the burger instead of ranch was a no go. So don 't try and make your burger edible the way you want it.

The hype is worth it--Burgies is awesome. Locally owned and offering a HUGE menu and lots of local and craft beers, this is a total gem on the main drag in Alpena. Although the restaurant is a little on the small side, which can mean a wait, it is definitely worth it! I loved the Brussel sprouts, and I would challenge anyone who thinks they don't like Brussels sprouts to reconsider and try these. I love that there are multiple vegetarian options; and their veggie burger is great--love the burgers sauce and avocado on it! Everything is served in HUGE portions, so order accordingly.

Best breaded mushrooms I've ever had... I absolutely loved this place! Great beer, great food, and great service. We were very happy. If I'm ever back in Alpena, I'll definitely eat here again. Highly recommended.

First time in Alpena last nite. Searched internet on restaurants and this place had great reviews. We all loved our food ....I opted for the fried portobellas instead of fries and they were out of this world ! Our waiter was very entertaining too. Only issue was the very long wait for food ... But it ended up being worth the wait !
