This restaurant is just next to our AirBnb so was convenient for our first night in Almunecar. We had been craving lamb chops and noticed that they were offered in their special menu. For 18.50 each we had a starter (garlic prawns and asparagus salad with 3 sauces), grilled lamb chops with vegetables and chips (2 serves), rice pudding and flan. We also received sparkling water, bread and olives. As an extra we bought a bottle of Rioja Tempranillo which was excellent value for money (12 Euro). There were very few people in the restaurant and as a result it lacked atmosphere. The menu had an English translation so it didn't matter that the waitress spoke little English. Overall it was a very enjoyable meal and extremely good value.
We have often walked past this restaurant without a thought- but yesterday we went in and had the Menu of the day, mushrooms and prawns for starter, steak with chips and melon for desert, with a drink and bread. All for 11€, it was an absolute bargain. The food was excellent and plenty of it. The service was first class, the waiter was on the ball and extremely polite. We will definitely try it again now we know how good it is.
This is a proper Spanish place. It is frequented mostly by Spanish people so that must say the food is good. We sat in their newly refurbished front terrace for drinks. It was very sheltered and a nice place to watch the world go by. Service was good, the tinto verano was lovely and although the tapas were a bit too fishy for me, my husband enjoyed his baby squid deep fried tenticles the paella was delicious.
