Cafe Rachel - Allison Park

I wanted to go to check this place, went there and the sign said that only students of chatham are welcome. I hope to visit them when they change this request.

Nice coffee shop on the Chatham University campus. Good prices and nice selection of flavors. Very small and limited seating inside but their are tables outside that would be great in warmer weather.

Neither good nor inexpensive, but it's pretty much the only option on campus, so it's better than nothing. They serve bottled beer in the evening, but you're better off walking down to Shadyside or riding the shuttle by Bakery Square if you want a drink.

They serve coffee and smoothies. They sell bottled drinks and a bunch of junk food (chips, poptarts, ramen). Wish it was healthier and had actual food.

The staff here are always friendly but the coffee is bad. About half the time I get a mouthful of grounds at the end of the cup, but the real problem is that it often tastes and smells like an exhaust pipe. I don't understand why it's so bad when the coffee at Anderson (also run by Parkhurst) is actually decent but a meal there is $10, so I'm stuck with coffee from Cafe Rachel. Better off making instant coffee.
