The Dining Room - Allerdale

This restaurant is a perfect spot for a meal after a hike. The food was delicious and the service was top-notch. They are very welcoming to dogs, even providing water and sausages for our furry friend. If you're in the area, definitely check this place out.

We stayed at the hotel and had dinner on two evenings during our stay. We found the menu had a nice variety which had been skilfully selected. The food was delicious, with fresh locally sourced ingredients. The ‘Black Pudding Scotch Egg’ starter and ‘Sea Bream’ main, was absolutely wonderful! We will be visiting again.

The atmosphere is classic old hotel charm. The place is well cared for. More importantly the food is excellent. Our party had the lamb and the Guinea fowl. Both were excellent. Desserts were very good (especially the brownie). Great service. Prices are a little higher than a ‘pub’ but the quality is excellent.

During my stay at the hotel, I dined at the restaurant a couple of nights. I was impressed by the team's willingness to accommodate any request and pleasantly surprised by the high quality of the food for a hotel restaurant. The dishes were freshly cooked with good quality ingredients and beautifully presented, showcasing the skill of the chef. I highly recommend dining here, and it seems the locals also agree based on conversations I had with a few guests in the bar.

Lovely overnight break. Ouro room had a splendid view, room 3 Staff were excellent, warm, helpful engaged and interested in our visit. Dinner was superb, we had smoked haddock risotto, so tasty amd beautifully presented. Hearty breakfast. Highly recommend
