Matsui Japanese Sushi Ramen

Very friendly place. Nice atmosphere and the service was great. The food looks good and I really enjoyed it overall. I thought I?d remove one star based on my dish but decided not too just because they were so nice. My dish was good but not great. It looked much better than it tasted. We will definitely return and I will try other dishes as well.

I will never order again from this place. The expectations were high but food is 1 out of 10. Ramen very very tasteless broth. Not enough meat and very small portion. Sushi total disaster! They fall out before you put them into mouth. Mostly they consist of rice, not anything else. There was a salad as well and it had 1 slice of radish. Seriously?! Plus they didn?t put chopsticks or even napkins. Very big disappointment.

This place is incredible! As a connoisseur of sushi, and living in Japan for 4 years, this is the closest thing to an authentic Japanese sushi experience that you can find in the DMV. I decided to pick a sushi place to get dinner for my girlfriend. An order of dumplings, a small bowl of Miso soup, and 2 rainbow rolls that were the tiniest things I've ever seen cost me approximately $37. Honestly the amount of fish and rice used for 2 rainbow rolls is the same as one roll every other sushi place I have gone to in my entire life. I know there's inflation but good Lord. We enjoyed our food. The sushi was our favorite. The ramen broth needed more flavor, it was pretty weak for me. My husband had the miso and I think I had the shoyu ramen. I added some dashi, sesame oil and tamari to mine when I got home. OH! BEST THING IN MY RAMEN THAT I'LL GO BACK FOR WAS THE RAMEN EGG????????????????! ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS!
