Kimo's Hawaiian Bbq - Albuquerque

The woman who took my order laughed at me when I couldn't remember the correct name of a dish. I have been eating at this restaurant for two years and still don't know the name of the small fried chicken nuggets. However, the last server I had always understood what I was asking for. This younger woman seemed to be in the wrong position and when she realized she was passing me off, she asked what side I wanted. I told her that it is difficult to support local businesses when treated this way, so I will take my money elsewhere. If the owner would like to address this issue, I am willing to remove my review (I still love the food), but if not, I will leave it up and spend my money at a different establishment.

I ordered the fried chicken sandwich but instead received a strange plate of chicken. When I inquired about my sandwich, the server gave me a cold piece of bread and remarked, "There's your sandwich." My wife and I paid over $40 for the meal, and she, having lived in Hawaii for years, was extremely disappointed.

If the owner cares to acknowledge this, I'll take it down (I'm not mad I love your food) but if you don't care then I'll keep this review up and spend my money elsewhere.

We just moved from Portland, OR where Hawaiian food is abundant and delicious. I can say this place absolutely hold up to if not exceeds those standards. Excellent food at a fair price!

The food here is FANTASTIC! The staff is really nice and friendly, as well. Highly recommend the chicken katsu, the kalua pork sandwich, the loco moco. The spam musubi and macaroni salad are perfect, the restaurant itself is super cute and comfy. Love this place, will be back again and again!
