Dean Martin's Lanning's - Akron

We received excellent service and they seated us at a really nice window seat. I ordered the crab cakes and scallops, everything was very delicious. The dining room was very well decorated. I will come back again.

My recent experience dinning at Lanning's was spectacular. The interior is completely remodeled since we last visited about seven years ago. The decor is certainly more modern and it's decorated very well with many Dean Martin pictures and art. We were nicely greeted, and the staff was very friendly during our entire meal. All the menu items we ordered were wonderful. We started out with the escargot which was very good and dipping the table bread into the garlic sauce was just perfect. I ordered the filet and I can say that it is on the same level as the Marble Room. My wife tried the flounder and crab special, and it was very delicious as well. The lobster mac cheese side was better than expected so we were very pleased. The chocolate chip lava cake à la mode dessert was very rich and tasty, but and a great end to the night. One of the best parts about our experience was being greeted and having a discussion with the owner Dean Martin. He sat at our table to chat with us for a bit. That's awesome when an owner will stop by and have a chat with customers to make them feel more welcome.

Back on track. A couple months ago I left a review of Lanning's that wasn't favorable for the restaurant. Dean Martin, the owner, contacted me personally to discuss our experience and made every attempt to make it right, he even offered a free meal to which I refused. I did however agree to visit again, and my wife and I had dinner there last night. First of all the atmosphere is awesome, and they work hard to make sure you are made to feel comfortable and welcomed. Dean knew I was coming and was waiting outside to greet us. After a brief conversation he and his lovely wife Bethany, took the time to sit down with us and not only discuss the past experience but also talk about life, and their new efforts on the bar side with a new menu, etc. After that we had a wonderful experience at Lannings. The meal was amazing and perfectly prepared, and our servers were awesome. Dean has earned our respect and I am looking forward to many more meals at Lannings in the future. The service is exceptional, the food is delicious, and the lounge has an amazing atmosphere. It truly delivers everything you would hope for from a place like this.
