General idea and setup is fine, but the final execution misses the brand a little. Easily detestable staff (e.g. to explain the menu for a few minutes if it certainly does not need) and to take age to get our order. The serving sizes were good, but the general taste lacked something to let me come back in a hurry. The general value for money was not the best.
The staff are really friendly. The chef came out to speak to our group (13 of us) to explain the chef specials and answer our questions about the food before we ordered. The food itself was amazing. I didn't manage to snap pictures of everyone's dish but they looked awesome and everyone really enjoyed their meal. If you go here I would highly recommend getting a chef special or the magic mushroom.
Attended a week ago. We were really looking forward to supporting this vegan addition to the port. Ordered a satay tofu entre that was small but OK tasty. At least, what I had expected. For mains we ordered a vegetable Laksa and I ordered a mock beef Laksa. Both were awful. The beef laksa was a white fluid that tasted like a quarter glass of milk mixed with 4 cups of water with a few vegies/mushrooms, a few bits of fake beef. I think a chilli may have been waved through it all. Milky and flavourless. My partner had abandoned her pale grey-brown vegetable laksa less than a third of the way into it. It tasted (she pushed it over to me) totally tasteless...unless noodles in dishwater is your thing. We were EXTREMELY disappointed. As vegans we promote veganism. If a non-vegan ate this meal they could conclude that vegan food is tasteless and boring which is certainly not the case generally. I asked to see the chef and he came out for a chat and we offered our feedback on our experience of our meal. Essentially he proffered the explanation that this was Vietnamese laksa that uses more subtle spices and suggested that people's palate's differ!. Any way..in my view the experience was disappointing and we strongly recommend that you do not order Laksa at the Port Adelaide Sky Restaurant. Be aware when looking at reviews that reviews for the Port Adelaide restaurant don't get confused with those from the North Adelaide Sky restaurant. Service was OK...unremarkable. Prices appeared reasonable were the food reasonable. Restaurant was about half full at 7:30pm on a Saturday evening. Updated from previous review on 2021-07-03
100% plantbased! New location at the Port! Food is divine and owner is wonderful! What an amazing little vietnamese resturant! One of my new favourites! Mock meats, authentic vietnamese cuisine, cream brulee, pho, laksa, tofu, noodles, portobello pepper steak, dumplings and much more! Updated from previous review on 2021-06-20
