Bidra med feedbackOften it is the quality of food that makes a party or any dinner enjoyable. Not only that everyone enjoyed their chosen menu the decor, presentation and service was ersatz Mexico. It was a thoroughly enjoyable evening that was had by all for a birthday party.
Cinco de Mayo was fun! had lots to eat and the kids weren't left out as well. The bar was also good. Its a great place to hang out with friends but you'd want to come early on Fridays cos its packed.
I really wanted Tacos and the Mexican Diner I buy it from were closed, as it was already past 9pm. I had read positive reviews about Casa Mexicana so we decided to check it out. We got there at about 9.25 and were greeted by a waiter who led us to our tables. He told us the kitchen usually closes by 9.30 and the restaurant by 10, but we could still order. Our menus were brought and I also got a bag hanger, which I really liked as I did not have to think about where to keep my bag. We chose the special nachos to share for our starter. It comes loaded with meat and veggies in alternate layers, with a guacamole dip. It was really good. For our mains, I chose hard shell chicken and cheese tacos, while the Hubs chose a mixed fajita dish. There were 3 tacos which came with a tomato sauce and the same guacamole dip as the nachos, by the side. The tacos were nothing spectacular to be honest. I felt they were too small for the price and I didn’t like that the shells were so oily, I had oil all over my hands by the time I was done eating. I had really been looking forward to having tacos and they didn’t live up to my expectations. My husband on the other hand really enjoyed his meal. He even said it’s a place he wouldn’t mind going back to. The mixed fajita had prawns, chicken, bell peppers, and came with a side of rice, beans, guacamole, tomato sauce, and two tortillas. I ate some prawns out of his mixed fajita and they were really good. We ordered fresh orange and pineapple juices for our drinks, I really liked that they came in very large glasses so you can sip on them through the meal and still have a lot left at the end of it. Note that there are no fresh juices listed on the menu and we had to ask the waiter for it. The bill came up to a bit over 17,000 which I was not expecting as most reviews I had read kept emphasizing how really cheap the food was remember we even shared a starter. The restaurant serves as a store also, there are many items on display which customers can purchase. I didn’t like the overall feel as I felt there was so much clutter it was distracting. I prefer a much simpler ambience. The service was very fast but we were the only two customers so I’m not sure how it is on a normal day. Overall, it was an okay experience for me but I’m not sure if I will be going back. I might just be biased to The Mexican Diner whose tacos I wanted in the first place.
The environment is beautiful, lovely Mexican songs played quietly in background, very polite staff, I had tried a lot of quesadilla prior to this, but this is definitely the best, I went back few days later to try out something new and their fajitas are amazing and very affordable.Great place.
I had never tasted Mexican Food Before. For the first time in a while, a friend asked me to go out to eat with him on his dollar. I kid you not, i ate so much, everything was good. the Tortillas were sublime. before now, tortilals for me were just spicy beans wrapped in Rotti. but this was a worthwhile experience.... oh and everything in the store is for sale. Even the decor and the furniture. thats also pretty cool.
