Waffle House - Abingdon

I arrived at the restaurant around 3:55 and sat within 15 feet of two employees, with only one other customer present. They ignored me until 4:06 without even saying hello. It wasn't until 4:07 that they finally acknowledged me and took my order. Aside from that, the restaurant was clean and the service was provided without any other issues. One positive note is that the soup of the day was very warm.

The dining experience was good overall, but some of the staff appeared to be lacking in care. The restaurant was busy with dirty tables, and while we waited for a table to be cleaned, three coworkers took a smoke break together. However, one cook named Troy took it upon himself to clean a table and take our order. I greatly appreciated his work ethic and customer service, ensuring that we were well taken care of despite the circumstances. While the other servers decided to smoke while customers waited, Troy stood out with his dedication. I hope the management recognizes the valuable asset Troy is to the restaurant. I rarely give extraordinary tips, but the exceptional service he provided warranted recognition. I wish more individuals possessed the determination and work ethic that Troy displayed.

I love going to the Waffle House when I visit from New York, but this particular location was disappointing. It made me sick, as everything I ate upset my stomach right after leaving the restaurant. The place was not clean and I even saw the cook chewing gum while preparing the food.

We all have certain expectations when we go out to eat for each of their own, but for me I feel like it is different for every place. the things that are important to me are cleanliness, good and timely table-side style and eat that I want to eat. and this place has checked all my boxes. just what I didn't love is that there were gum-like bits in my grotten, which I guess was from the edge of the container, but everything else was hot ready and content and our server was just the right amount of zelt.

Went inside and was told we could sit anywhere but none of the available tables were cleaned yet.One person cleaned a single table that we sat down at and then nobody ever came to the table after that to wait on us. We ended up just leaving.I usually love getting to stop at a Waffle House but not this time and not at this location, sadly.
