Bidra med feedback3rd visit, but unfortunately, my worst. Same great views, and the atmosphere was good, but food let it down. The fish pie was cold on inside for x2 of our party, they ordered something different 2nd time around but we'd all finished by time theirs arrived, so not eating together. Recovered somewhat by manager who took their meals off the bill, but food defo let it down. Service: Dine in
First time eating at The Cove. We waited over 2 hours to get our mains and what must of been the “supervisor or manager” the chap with a beard had no customer service skills. Confused to why he’s working in hospitality. Other staff were very nice and we understand things can go wrong time to time but the whole experience was ruined by the one person there who was supposed to resolve issues. The food we did manage to get was okay. Not even a sorry for what happened and he was so rude to female members of the group that this deserved a 1 star review.

Nice spot in theory and friendly service but severely understaffed, and food quality was poor for the price. I've had much better food for a lot less in a lot more expensive parts of the world. Service: Dine in Meal type: Dinner Price per person: £40–50 Food: 1 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 3
Firstly, lets start with the good things. We were sat in the window with absolutely stunning views! We visited on a Sunday for father's day, to be told it was only roasts on the menu. This wasn't a problem and the beef, lamb and nut roast was not awful. The roast potatoes were some of the best I'd had in a while. However, after being seated we had to wait about 30mins for drinks, and that was after we ended up going to the bar and asking for drinks. We then placed our food at the same time. Then we waited and waited for around another hour before we received our food, with no other drinks orders being taken. If this was a busy restaurant then I'd maybe understand. But we were one of four tables. The table next to us received starters and then mains before we received anything. More often than not there was no staff member behind the bar or front of house. The waitress was doing her best as they were clearly short staffed, but the wait on food was not her fault. We were understanding they were short, but there was only 4 tables, we shouldn't have had to wait as long as we did. Roasts are one of the easiest things to do and turn around quickly, and considering it was father's day and for the prices we would have expected better. It was £23 for two courses, we were all looking forward to having dessert but because the main took so long to arrive we all decided it was too late and didn't really want to wait any longer for dessert, so we were charged £18 each for our roasts. One of the group last visited October 2022 and was blown away by the food and the service. I'm not sure if it's changed hands since then or what has changed but they really need to have a re think of their service, it's such a beautiful venue, just really let down by the wait and service. But as initially said the roast wasn't horrendous and everyone was so hungry that plates were all finished.
