Bidra med feedbackWas there to eat with my wife on the occasion of my birthday after we have become aware of this restaurant on tripadvisor. exceptionally tasty eating, delicious wein and onmerskamer, but with unobtrusive service. the eating portions are, as mentioned on the website, quite suitable to get really fed.Haben sat on the very nice and cozy outside terrace, where it was a bit loud due to the proximity to a not little busy road however (the terrace is not visible from the road however).) the interior looked like the terrace very appealing.
Were there for two on a Saturday night. except us was just another few there and despite everything it took to say and write 30 minutes until the ordered appetizer was there. this was quite delicious, but also tiny small and yet very expensive (14€ for 2 minibruschetta and four small gambas.) Well, then it took another twenty minutes until the main dish came. this was not beautifully presented and the rosmarinkartoffeln have tasted after warmed up ( chicken breast ok, but for almost 20€ mega expensive) we were also allowed to translate, because no one in the restaurant can speak English and two young girls did not come further with the non-logical card. And best to conclude: no card payment! so fast to the automat, because I had only 50€ bar, but it cost for two without alcoholic drinks 63,50€! Conclusion: from inside super (works and open fireplace)...But that was almost already. for the money you can also go to aachen to pippin. never again.
On 08.01.2016 visits with a voucher about oecherdeal for a court goose bump with red cabbage and dumplings. the first impression from outside was "where is the entrance? are we actually right here?"When you go in, you have to be careful not to jump up or fall down. service friendly and accommodating (they took us and hanged us off) unfortunately spoke very quietly and you could not always understand them and that although we were the only guests at the time. it was just before 18 o'clock and the tables were not yet properly and badly covered. we lacked the serviettes, but they were handed down. card has been served for any appetizer. selection was not really convincing and the prices too high. would have liked a limo, was not in stock and had to decide something else. then came the Couvert bread: dry, thin-cut baguette, unfortunately not fresh and a simple piece of cold butter. to the main dish: for my conditions too fast served, for that everything should be freshly prepared. gänsekeule zäh, skin crispy or dried out, rotkohl although self-made, unfortunately, I had to find out a variety of flavors when eating because I had already bitten it. is not really delicious when the taste is no longer going away. the dumplings had the typical grisly of purchased finished product. for me, it was sedative of eating. dessert could only be offered tiramisu, which we thankfully rejected. bill without address-headed conclusion: even with a good note I would no longer go.
This little gem is simply recommended to eat a good food, good drinks and good service. we have visited it many times and have never been disappointed.
We dined at the Cornelium with a large family party and had a set menu of two different starters (vitello tonnato and gambas) and two different mains: salmon with curry spaghetti and duck with vegetables. The curry spaghetti and salmon worked surprisingly well together. The quality of the food was really good (juicy salmon, delicious sauce, crispy duck, nice gambas) and we enjoyed every bite. The black and white mousse we had as a dessert was ok. The atmosphere is nice in a very old building. It is way outside of Aachen so you do need a car to get there. If you are staying in Kornelimünster it is an easy walk from anywhere in the town centre. There are a few parking spots near the restaurant. We definitely go there again and try their a la carte menu.
